This historic property gets its name from the center building, circa 1890, that was originally the North Conway Elementary School.  It served in that capacity until 1923 when it became a tea house.  It was a private residence from the end of the Second World War until 1963 when construction began to transform it into the School House Inn.

Now, 57 years later, and managed by only its 3rd owner, the Bellini Family, we have welcomed guests from every corner of the world.  Many of our guests travel from afar year after year to experience the beautiful North Conway summer and foliage.

In addition to our main Inn, we also offer a variety of cabins.  We are one of the few remaining properties in North Conway to offer such.

We are open seasonally from May 15th – November 1st and have been the host property for many car clubs, walking and hiking clubs, sporting events, motorcycle rallies, foliage tours etc.

Great place in a great location. It’s close enough to the center of town to be walking distance from whatever it you wanna do, and it’s far enough where you can actually get peace and quiet at night. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains. I love the little seats in front. It made sipping our morning cup of coffee delightful. Not enough can be said about Annie. Annie alone was the reason we came back (after staying) and didn’t even bother looking at other places. In the land of customer service, Annie’s attentiveness should be bottled.

Not sure where to start, no toilet paper, there is a sink in the bedroom (room 11) which has no space to put any toiletries whatsoever especially if you are a woman. I had to rearrange the furniture (the desk so we’d have a place to put our toiletries next to the sink). My husband is trying to put his laptop there too but has little space because of all of our toiletries. I have to plug in my blow dryer someplace else because there’s no space and no plug in the bedroom near the sink. No place to put anything near a mirror. Not sure where I’m going to put my make up on tomorrow. The bathroom is super small but clean, and I’m not sure how the bed will favor tonight but we shall see because it’s only one night and I think I can tolerate it. Anyways it’s just a stop over so it’s not a big deal but I wouldn’t recommend this place to stay for a week. The view is nice though from the bedroom window. I just spoke with my husband and he actually said that he had to get toilet paper because there wasn’t any in the room and then he had to get some ice because there was no ice machine and the girl at the front desk had to go downstairs somewhere to get ice. He did not compliment them at all so I don’t know what the person that responded to this is thinking.

We've been staying at The School House Inn pretty exclusively for the past few years we have visited North Conway after our first time staying here. The location is convenient to just about everything in town, and the rooms have views of the Moat Mountains. The lady who works the front desk has always been extremely nice, and also helpful with suggestions for places in North Conway to check out if you're unfamiliar with the area. The rooms that we've stayed in here have all been clean & comfortable. Some of the rooms have new showers some have old tub showers personally I like the new showers more than tubs. The price has always been the biggest selling point for me when staying here. We've stayed in a few other similarly priced accomodations in North Conway, and they haven't been up to the same standard as The School House Inn. If you're looking for clean, comfortable, inexpensive, no frills accomodations I would highly recommend checking out The School House Inn on your next stay in North Conway.

First off when you go into the room there is a sink in the bedroom. Second my wife went to use the bathroom and realized there was no toilet paper in the room. Had to go to the office the person in the office said oh they didn't leave any toilet paper I'm sorry. Later went to get ice no ice machine had to get it from the office I'm glad at least they were open. $172 for one night. Save your money.

Our room wasn't clean... a pile of dirty towels in the bathroom and a razor in the shower. Plus nobody in the office to complain to. Very little furniture. One chair and one bedside table in a huge room. Two big closets and no hangers. They did have a fridge and a mini coffee maker. I also was disappointed they had removed the swimming pool. Definitely trying a different place next year...
