In July of 2011, our founders Annette Lee & Nicole Carrier started selling beer in a small warehouse space on the seacoast of NH. They launched with a clear vision – to acquire 100% of our ingredients for the beer (such as hops, wheat, barley, fruit, and spices) from within 200 miles of the brewery. Currently, we are about 70% to 99% of the way there (depending on the beer) – which is really unique for the industry and something we are quite proud of.
Many breweries in the pre-prohibition era sourced their raw ingredients locally and then processed them before brewing. To that end, our brewery is really a throwback to the past. We strive to make small batches of high quality, artisanal beer from the freshest of local ingredients, with the intent that these beers be enjoyed by our surrounding communities.
With the opening of our restaurant in July of 2015, we have committed to these same sourcing philosophies and love & care in crafting our food as we do our beer. In our kitchen, everything is made from scratch. It is made with lots of heart and love. It is food we are proud to serve to our friends, and family, and to you.
As we’ve grown, our core values of sustainability, community-building, integrity, and kindness have not changed. What has changed is our location. Instead of brewing in a warehouse, we are now located on the beautiful 12-acre Hobbs Farm within a picturesque 1860s post & beam barn. Our farm includes a hop yard, heirloom chickens and pigs, Nigerian dwarf goats, miniature donkeys, ducks, a beer garden, games for the kids, and solar panels that help power our beer.

6 months agoSo, if you want to support local farms and stuff, I highly recommend this place. If you want super delicious beer with funny and adorable names, I highly recommend this place. If you want really good, locally sourced food, I highly recommend this place. We probably spent too much money on beer, but what we tried was super yummy and we wanted to see what else was good. (Didn't find anything I didn't like) Meanwhile, my wallet is giving me the side-eye as I order another. They may have bewitched the beer. I have zero desire to leave.

6 months agoWe had a great time at Throwback! The crew behind the bar was great! Always kne step ahead even hearing us about different beers we've had, liked and offering samples of what they had on tap. I am a pilsner/lager/Kolsch beer drinker and my husband is an IPA/Porter or Stout beer drinker. They have plenty of good taps in all categories. The stouts we tried were fairly light Great for a hot summer day, if you are a dark beer person. Our Koren BBQ wings were very good. Crispy and tasteful. The kitchen is on point. No waiting around for food. We saw some really good looking burgers coming out of that kitchen. We will be back for one of those! We stayed through Harvest Hosts and parked ourselves in the back parking lot. They are booked for the season, but if you get the chance in the off season to go- do it! Hobbs Farm is also a delight, offering some great farm to table choices. The atmosphere is wonderful with plenty of seating outside for large groups.

11 months agoWe have enjoyed seeing the success of this local brew/pub. They have truly made “keeping it local” a reality. Their food is always good, the outdoor seating is fun and the beer is ever changing and always great! Their sours and darks are my favorite.
